YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Krystelle DiAnn Gambles Bogan, 59, of Youngstown, departed this life Friday, January 6, 2017 at 4:00 a.m. at the Hospice House, following complications from a stroke.
She was born June 15, 1957 in Akron, Ohio, the daughter of Archie Oliver Monroe, Sr. and Ruth Henderson Monroe Woodall, residing in the area for one year, coming from Abilene, Texas.
She was employed with Eagle Heights Academy for five years as a Teacher’s Assistant, before retiring in 2009. She worked for Hendrix Medical Center in Texas as a Laboratory Processor from 1995 – 1998.
Mrs. Gambles Bogan was a member of Rising Star Baptist Church, serving on the Drama Ministry, Dance Ministry, Usher Board, Food Pantry Ministry and the Women’s Ministry.
She was a member of the Red Hat Society, The Rayen School Class of 76 Reunion Committee, the Mahoning County Machine Knitting Guild of Warren and enjoyed knitting, dancing, poetry writing and teaching knitting.
She attended Youngstown State University.
She married Sherwood Bogan December 20, 2012.
Besides her husband, she leaves to mourn two sons, Timothy (Harriett) Gambles of Providence, Rhode Island and MSgt. Joseph G. Gambles of RAF Lakenheath, England; one daughter, Ms. Regina D. Gambles of Youngstown; one sister, Ms. Ruth “Penny” Yancey of Youngstown; five grandsons, Nathaniel, D’ante, Joshua, Ethan and Israel; four granddaughters, Rachel, Madison, Ayanna and Tyshalynn and a host of relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Sajeed “Butch” Aleem, Herman J. “Pete” Monroe and Michael J. Monroe, Sr.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 12, 2017 at 12:00 Noon at the Rising Star Baptist Church.
Calling Hours will be held one hour prior to service from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 Noon.
Burial will take place at Belmont Park Cemetery.
Family will receive friends at 440 Fairgreen Avenue, Youngstown.
Arrangements of comfort were handled by the Sterling-McCullough Williams Youngstown Funeral Home.
