EAST PALESTINE, Ohio – Kathy Ross, 77, who resided in East Palestine, passed away Friday, January 13, 2017 with family by her side.
She was born February 15, 1939 in New Brighton, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late Thurman and Mary (Grant) Langnecker.
She was a longtime active member of the Lake Mount Church of Christ in New Waterford, loved animals and was the owner/operator of Crown R Kennels. She loved horses and was a collector of antique horses. Kathy enjoyed crocheting and made blankets for all her grandchildren, family and friends.
Kathy is survived by four children, Tammy (Larry) McElhaney of Lake Tomahawk, Terry Jackson, Tim Ross and Tabatha (Jim) Soker, all of East Palestine; brother, James (Betty) Langnecker of Virginia Beach, Virginia; brother-in-law, Jim Ross of East Palestine; 11 grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years in 1998, Jerry Ross as well as a grandson, Sgt. Nicholas James Jackson in 2005.
A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at the Lake Mount Church of Christ with her grandsons, Derek and Brandon McElhaney officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 5:30 – 6:00 p.m.
