CAMPBELL, Ohio – A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, January 23 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Apostles Parish at Sts. Peter and Paul Croatian Roman Catholic Church, with Rev. Joseph Rudjak officiating, for Mary Bozic, 101, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who passed away Tuesday, January 17 at Guardian Windsor House.
Mary will forever be remembered as a generous, sweet, yet feisty lady who devoted herself to her family.
She was born July 31, 1915, in Youngstown, to Anthony and Helen Furac Kocanyer.
Mary lived most of her 101 years in Campbell.
Mary was a devout Roman Catholic and always looked forward to going to her Croatian Church on Sunday mornings.
One of her fondest memories was taking her first airplane ride at age 74 to Disney World, where she had as much fun as her grandchildren did.
Mary leaves behind to mourn her passing, her sons, John and Matthew (Betty Thomas) Bozic of Campbell; her daughter, Barbara Matthews of Glenshaw, Pennsylvania; seven grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents; Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Matthew, who shared her love of playing cards; her sister, Barbara Kocanyer; her brothers, John and Peter Kocanyer and her son-in-law, George Matthews.
The Bozic family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home and will receive family and friends Monday morning, January 23 from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. at the church, located at 421 Covington St., in Youngstown, prior to the 10:00 a.m. funeral Mass.
Interment will be a private family affair at Calvary Cemetery.
