HUBBARD, Ohio – There were private services held on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at Stewart-Kyle Funeral Home for Gordon Reapsummer age 96, of Hubbard who passed away on Sunday, January 22, 2017 at Park Vista Retirement Center.
Gordon was born February 2, 1920 in Youngstown, Ohio a son of James & Grace Stringer Reapsummer.
He was a 1938 graduate of The Rayen School.
Gordon was an assembler for 42 years at General Fireproofing retiring in 1982.
He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Hubbard, and was a veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II in the European Theater and was the recipient of the Purple Heart.
He enjoyed the cottage at Lake Erie, and vacationing at the Outer Banks and bowled on the bowling team at General Fireproofing for many years.
His wife, the former LaVerne Reese whom he married September 29, 1961, passed away October 11, 2008.
He will be sadly missed by his family. His daughters, Terry (Jerry) Cinicola, Linda Womer and Patti Mann; his son-in-law, Reichard Mann all of Hubbard and his grandchildren, Ashley and Steven Cinicola.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife; his brothers, James, Robert and Edward; his sisters, Lucile Reapsummer and Elizabeth Reapsummer and an infant grandchild, Gerald Gordon Cinicola.
Gordon was laid to rest at Hubbard Union Cemetery with full military honors.
