BROOKFIELD, Ohio – Robert J. “Grandpabobby” Capak, 90, passed away Sunday, January 22, 2017 at home with his loving family by his side.
He was born July 27, 1926, in Warren, Ohio, the son of the late Andrew and Mary (Stuber) Capak.
He was a graduate of Warren G. Harding High School. He was a Howland Township resident most of his life.
Bob retired January 1, 1990 from Packard Electric Plant #10 as a Foreman after 49 years.
He loved to hunt, fish, golf, travel and spend time with his family.
Robert served Honorably with U.S. Army WW-II from 1944 to 1947 and received the rank of Corporal, the Victory Medal and the Occupation Medal and had been stationed with 39th Infantry Division in Germany.
He is survived by his sister, JoAnne Landreth; niece, Phyllis Ruffin; nephew, Kenneth Ruffin all from California. Memories will be carried on by his three grandchildren, Stephanie (Kirk) Groves also his caregiver from Brookfield, Shelley Cordle of Brookfield and Justin Ciecerko of Maricopia, Arizona; five great-grandchildren, Hunter Groves, Christian Groves, Olivia Ciecerko, Antonio Ciecerko and Andrew (Hannah) Ciecerko; a great-great-grandchild, Gabriel Ciecerko; a niece, Donna (Roger) Zavodnyof Cleveland; son-in-law, Frank Ciecerko of Bristolville and a stepdaughter, Suzanne Sapic of Warren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Avis Capak; great-granddaughter, Cierra Gabrielson; daughter, Linda J, Ciecerko and a sister, Eleanore Capan.
Family and friends may call Wednesday, January 25 from 9:30 – 11:30 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church 3020 Reeves Rd. NE, Warren, Ohio 44483.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, January 25 at 11:30 a.m. at the church with Rev. Thomas Eisweirth officiating.
Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery in Bazetta.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Robert’s name to his granddaughter Cierras Scholarship Fund in c/o any Huntington Bank.
