WARREN, Ohio – Dorothy B. Karl, 91, passed away peacefully at her home, January 26, 2017, from the complications of multiple sclerosis.
She was born on January 31, 1925, in Bradley, Ohio, the daughter of Leo and Adele Rosek Captor.
She moved to Warren in 1944 and worked at the Ohio Lamp plant where she met her eventual husband, Robert Karl. They were married on October 25, 1947.
Dorothy, or Dot as she was known to her friends, was a homemaker and a member of Blessed Sacrament Church. She previously had been a member of St. Mary’s Church where she was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society.
She was a bookkeeper for Bob Karl’s Auto Wrecking for many years but her greatest joy was her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by Robert, her husband for 69 years; her children, Donald (Karen) Karl, Marylu (Robert) Miller, David (Dianne) Karl and James (Barbara) Karl; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Robert.
Family and friends may call Monday, January 30 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. and Tuesday, January 31 from 9:00 – 9:30 a.m. at Peter Rossi and Son Memorial Chapel, 1884 North Road, NE, Warren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church, 3020 Reeves Road, Warren.
