CORTLAND, Ohio – David R. Dawson, 50, passed away Sunday, February 19, 2017 surrounded by his family at the Cleveland Clinic.
David was born in Warren on August 20, 1966 and was a lifelong resident of the area.
At the young age of 16, David started volunteering for the Cortland Bazetta Fire Department. After high school, he obtained his credentials as a paramedic and firefighter working for Cortland and Bazetta Township until his health forced him to retire.
A memorial service for David will be held on Friday, February 24 at 1:00 p.m. at Maffitt Meadows, 2970 Hoagland-Blackstub (Bazetta) Road, Cortland, Ohio 44410 with a time of continued fellowship immediately following.
David was preceded in death by his infant brother, Joseph Dawson.
He is survived by his mother Rose Dawson; his father, William Dawson, Sr.; his significant other, Jennifer Johns; his sister, Denise Murphy and brother, William “Bill” Dawson, Jr.
