HOWLAND TOWNSHIP, Ohio – Nicholas G. “Nick” Maligas, 55, passed away peacefully Wednesday, March 1, 2017, at his home after a long illness as a result of a work-related accident.
He was born September 29, 1961, in Warren, Ohio, the son of George and Triantafillio Maligas.
He was a 1979 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School and had attended Youngstown State University.
He had previously worked the Brown Derby on Youngstown Road, Sunrise Inn Downtown Warren and other food industries in the area.
He was fun loving, warmhearted, loved socializing and people were drawn to him.
He was a member of St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Warren.
He enjoyed music, fishing, golfing and was an avid sports fan.
He is survived by his parents of Howland; a sister, Jeannie Maligas of Warren; two brothers, Anthony “Tony” Maligas of Warren and Kerry Maligas of Warren; two uncles, Manuel (Lee) Maligas of Houston, Texas and Mike (Mary Jane) Loulis of Newton Falls; an aunt, Katina Kondolis of Warren and numerous cousins.
Family and friends may call Sunday, March 5, 2017, from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel, 1884 North Rd. NE. Warren, Ohio 44483.
A service will be Monday, March 6, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church with Fr. Constantine Valantasis officiating.
Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Warren, Ohio.
