Crews battle fire at Niles insurance office

The cause of the fire is still under investigation

Crews battle a fire at a business in Niles, Ohio

NILES, Ohio (WKBN) – A fire to a vacant office building caused about $70,000 to $80,000 in damage, according to the Niles Fire Department.

Crews were called to Specialty Insurance and Financial Services on Robins Avenue about 5 a.m. Thursday.

The business is closed and not operating out of the building. A vacant apartment upstairs was also damaged.

A passerby saw smoke coming from the building and called 911.

The fire department said the cause of the fire is still under investigation. It started inside on the southwest corner of the building, which housed an office.

No one was inside the building at the time of the fire, and no injuries were reported.
