CAMPBELL, Ohio – Annie Louise Withers Jones, 91, of Campbell, departed this life Thursday, March 23, 2017 at 8:45 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Boardman Health Center.
She was born September 24, 1925 in Campbell, Ohio, the daughter of Columbus Spencer and Annie Stonework Withers Sr.
Mrs. Jones was a devoted homemaker and worked briefly for the Campbell Mayor’s Office as a secretary and the B & O Railroad and YMCA as a cook.
She was a graduate of Campbell Memorial High School and attended Secretarial School.
She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church, where she was the longest member, former Secretary, Culinary Ministry and was an avid reader of the Vindicator and The Buckeye Review.
She married James H. “Cal” Jones January 20, 1956, he died January, 2004.
She leaves to mourn one daughter, Ms. Lawanda Powell Randall of Campbell; one sister, Ms. Clara McKissack of Detroit, Michigan; two grandchildren, Ms. Nwenna A. Randall and Ms. Aisha J. Randall both of Washington, D.C. and a host of relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Columbus Spencer, Jr.; four sisters, Emma Withers, Bernice Jones, Bertha Ellis and Amanda Wiley and her first husband, Edward Powell.
Calling Hours will be held Thursday, March 30, 2017 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Sterling-McCullough Williams Youngstown Funeral Chapel.
Graveside Services will be held Friday, March 31, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Belmont Park Cemetery.
Arrangements of comfort were handled by the Sterling-McCullough Williams Funeral Home.
