FARRELL, Pa. (WKBN) – A woman is dead after a house fire in Farrell broke out around 10 p.m. Saturday night.

Mercer County officials say 46-year-old Regina Norris was found dead after being trapped inside the home on Wallis Avenue.

Firefighters say heavy smoke and fire came through the back of the house, leaving them to deal with low visibility and intense heat.

Sharon and Hermitage fire departments were called to help the Farrell Fire Department.

“Fire was extinguished in about 30 minutes. Right now, the State Fire Marshall and Farrell Police Department [are] investigating,” said Farrell Fire Chief John Laird.

Officials will perform a toxicology report on Norris to learn exactly how she died. The results should take about one week to come in.
