“All clear” given after suspicious package found near White House

WASHINGTON (WWLP) – Members of the media were cleared from the White House for about an hour Tuesday morning while the Secret Service investigated a suspicious package,

NBC News reporter Peter Alexander says that the North Lawn of the White House was shut down, and roads near the White House were closed to traffic.

After examining the item, the “all clear” was given by the Secret Service before 11:45, and business is continuing as normal at the White House.
