HUBBARD, Ohio – There were private services held on Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at Stewart-Kyle Funeral Home for George S. Svirbely, age 80 formerly of Hubbard who passed away on Thursday, March 30, 2017 at Park Center Health Care in Youngstown.
George was born December 6, 1936 in Sharon, Pennsylvania, a son of Joseph and Mary Stofan Svirbely.
He was a 1954 graduate of Sharon High School.
George was a crane operator for Valley Mould & Iron in Hubbard for many years and later worked at American Hardware in Hubbard.
He was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church.
George was a veteran of the United States Army stationed in Japan as an airplane mechanic and was a member of American Legion in Wheatland, Pennsylvania.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
His wife the former Margery E. Fox whom he married June 18, 1960 passed away January 16, 2017.
He will be sadly missed by his family; his daughter, Kathleen (Thomas) Mills of Hubbard; his sons, Gregory (Sherry) Svirbely of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania and Geoffrey (Angela) Svirbely of Hubbard; seven grandchildren, Ryan Mills, Abby Mills, Michael (Serena) Fedor, Kenny (Regan) Fedor, Danny Svirbely, Brittany Svirbely and Joey Svirbely and two great-grandchildren, Jackson Fedor and Parker Fedor.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, three sisters and four brothers.
George was laid to rest at Hubbard Union Cemetery.
