WARREN, Ohio – Lois Arlene Richards, age 89, of Warren passed away peacefully into eternal life on Friday, March 31, 2017 at St. Joseph Eastland Hospital in Warren.
She was born on December 9, 1927, in Carrollton, Ohio the daughter of the late Ross Hott and Gladys (Vaughn) Hott
Lois married the love of her life, Romey Leon Richards on October 16, 1947 and they enjoyed 35 years of marriage together before he passed away on August 22, 1982.
She had lived in Warren for five years, formerly of Newton Falls since 1963.
Lois was a cook at Hardees in Newton Falls for over 12 years.
She was a member of the First Church of God in Newton Falls and was a life member of the Newton Falls VFW Auxiliary.
Lois enjoyed playing cards, fishing, going to casinos, listening to bluegrass music and loved spending Christmas Eve and birthdays with all of her grandchildren.
Memories of Lois will be carried on by her loving family; her three daughters, Teresa (Raymond) Wilson of North Jackson, Patricia Hoysack of Warren and Linda Albright of Warren; her ten grandchildren, Michele (Eric) Johns, Michael (Denise) Bright, Donald Hodges, Shawn Hodges, Jeremy Hodges, Arlis (Michelle) Walker, Brian (Michelle) Sylvester, Christopher (Jaime) Sylvester, Sarah Sylvester and Michael Sylvester; 21 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Lois is preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Darlene Kay Wierzchowski; a sister, Helen Combs and a brother, Ross Hott.
Cremation has taken place.
Calling hours will be held at the James Funeral Home on Saturday, April 8, 2017 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m.
A Memorial Service will immediately follow at 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Lois will be laid to rest Newton Falls Cemetery.
