DELAWARE, Ohio – Alice Mae Makowski, 96, a longtime resident of Georgetown Rd. in Darlington, passed away Sunday, April 2, 2017 in Delaware, Ohio after a lengthy illness.
She was born April 6, 1920 in Negley, Ohio daughter of the late Levi and Nettie McCoy George.
She was a 1939 graduate of East Palestine High School, of the Methodist Faith and worked as a homemaker.
She enjoyed dancing, crafting, and yard sales and loved to crochet.
Alice is survived by three children, Wesley (Joan) Hays of Delaware, Ron (Jackie) Makowski of New Waterford and Sandy Hardcastle of New Waterford; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Her husband of 57 years, Felix preceded her in death in 2014 as well as two grandchildren, Thomas and Dena Weisenberger; seven brothers and one sister.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening, April 6 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Linsley-Royal Funeral Home in East Palestine.
A funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Mark McTrustry officiating.
A private interment will take place the following day at Mt. Zion Cemetery.
