WARREN, Ohio – David J. Follmeyer, 70, of Warren, passed away Sunday afternoon, April 2, 2017, at his residence.
He was born July 29, 1946 in Warren, a son of Raymond and Mary (Summers) Follmeyer.
Dave was a 1964 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School and was employed as a laborer for the former Packard Electric Corp. in Warren for 30 years, retiring in 1993.
He enjoyed fishing, music, playing the guitar, violin and harmonica. He was an avid Cleveland sports fan and loved playing baseball with his 65 and older team in Niles. Dave was also a numismatist, specializing in old and rare coins.
Dave is survived by three daughters, Kimbarlee A. Follmeyer, of Rochester, Pennsylvania, Jennifer K. (Rodney) Sankey, of Champion and Lisa R. (Don) Mathews, of Bristolville. He also leaves behind a brother, Robert (Julanne) Follmeyer, of Howland; seven grandchildren and a great-granddaughter. Also, his companion, Christine Leigh and her children, whom he thought of as his extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Fred Follmeyer.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 7, 2017, at the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home, 533 North Park Ave., Warren, with Pastor Thomas Badanjek officiating.
Friends may call from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Thursday, April 6, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers the family requests material contributions be made to the Animal Welfare League of Trumbull County, in Dave’s memory.
