WARREN, Ohio – Shasta LaMarcus Lampley, 60, of 2177 Brier Street, S.E., Warren, departed this life Saturday, April 8, 2017 at 4:01 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, following a brief illness.
He was born December 4, 1956, in Enterprise, Alabama, the son of Fred Lee and Sarah Alice Broxton Lampley, coming to the area in 1974.
Mr. Lampley was employed with Wheatland Tube Corporation for five years as a Laborer.
He was a 1976 graduate of Warren Western Reserve High School.
He was a member of King of Kings, where he was a Deacon, stewardship leader, bus driver and enjoyed drawing, lawn care, watching Turner Classics and fashion.
He served honorably in the U.S. Army as a Sergeant-Cargo Specialist, from 1981-1995, during Desert Storm serving in Southwest Asia, Somalia, Haiti and Kuwaiti. He received the Army Commendation Medal, Joint Meritorious Unit Award, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal with three Bronze Stars, Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon with #2, Service Ribbon, Overseas Service, Kuwaiti Liberation Medal, Expert Marksmanship Badge with Grenade Bar and the Air Assault Badge.
He married Tiffany Dawn Austin Lampley on June 18, 2015.
Besides his wife of Warren, he leaves to mourn two sons, Devin Cardale Lampley of Warren and Christopher Robert Moss, Sr. of Tampa, Florida; one daughter, Ms. Natasha Sharee Lampley of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; two stepsons, Terrell R. Scott, Jr. and Tyce Anthony J. Scott both of Warren; two stepdaughters, Ms. Abriauna M. Scott and Ms. Alaia R. Austin both of Warren; two brothers, Billy (Carol) Lampley and Tovrice Lampley both of Warren; six sisters, Ms. Sarah Jean Ethridge, Mrs. Frances (Augustus) Rowe, Mrs. Mary (Mac) Marsh, Ms. Betty McNair all of Warren, Mrs. Verlin Catherine (Moses) Douglas of Upper Marlboro, Maryland and Ms. Tranna E. (Alvin) Williams of Orange, New Jersey; one grandchild, Christopher Moss, Jr. and a host of relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, General Lampley, Charles Lampley and Marce Lampley.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, April 14, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the New Jerusalem Fellowship Church.
Calling hours will be held one hour prior to service 10:00 – 11:00 a.m.
Burial will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
Family will receive friends at 2177 Brier St., S.E., the home of his wife and 855 Lane West Rd., S.W., the home of his sister, Mary Marsh.
Arrangements of comfort were handled by the Sterling-McCullough Williams Funeral Home.
