SOUTHINGTON, Ohio – Vernell Tweed Vaughn, 84, passed away on Thursday, April 13, 2017, at Trumbull Memorial Hospital, due to respiratory failure.
She was born on June 11, 1932, to Aaron and Murphy Tweed, in Marshall, North Carolina.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie, whom she married in 1956; an infant daughter and siblings, Evelyn, Richard, Willard, Gladys and Inez.
Vernell graduated from Red Oak High School.
She enjoyed gardening and visiting with family.
She was a beloved school bus driver of 27 years in Southington, where she lived.
Vernell will be deeply missed by her brother, Wayne (Sue) and five children, Charles “Chuck”, Chris (Susan), Gary (Tracy), Charnell (Larry) and Donna (Randy); grandchildren, Keith (Jessica), Robert, Steven (Elizabeth), LaRae (Keith), Natalie (Jason), Amanda, Jannell (Mike), Acacia (Kevin), Olivia (Jeff), Laurissa, Randa (John) and Sarah (Jesse) and great-grandchildren, Seircia, Oliver, Kyle, MaKenzie, Gracie, Zoie, Janessa, Kendall, Paisley, Zachary, Bradley, Briana, Ryan and Jesslynn.
Family and friends may visit from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 20, 2017, at the Leavittsburg Church of God, 610 South Leavitt Road.
Interment will be in Meadow Brook Memorial Park, Champion, Ohio.
