BELMONT, North Carolina (Formerly of Warren, Ohio) – Laquitta Marie Jenkins-Butler, 51, of Belmont, North Carolina departed this life on Sunday, April 16, 2017 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center, following a cardiac arrest.
She was born November 28, 1965 in Warren, Ohio, the daughter of Perry Bryant and Mary W. Jenkins, residing in the area for one year, coming from Columbus.
Mrs. Butler was a member of Liberty Temple C.O.G.I.C. of Columbus, where she sang in the choir, enjoyed cooking and singing and was a 2000 graduate of ETI Technical College.
She was the author of “Testimony of a Single Mother: Nothing But God”.
She married Maurice Butler in August 2004.
Besides her husband of North Carolina, she leaves to mourn her four sons, Perry Jenkins, James Jenkins and Jonavon Farris, all of Columbus and Robert Farris of Orwell; two daughters, Mrs. LaTia (Charles) Hampton and Ms. Ashley Jenkins, both of Charlotte, North Carolina; one brother, Parish Jenkins of Canal-Winchester; seven grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 29, 2017 at 12:00 Noon at Monument of Faith Church of God in Christ (Warren).
Calling hours will be held one hour prior to service from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 Noon.
Arrangements of comfort were handled by the Sterling-McCullough Williams Funeral Home.
