Marzetta L. Watson, Youngstown, Ohio - obit

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 24, 2017 at the Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church for Mrs. Marzetta L. Watson, 94, of Youngstown formerly of Cleveland, who entered eternal rest on Monday, April 17, 2017.

Mrs. Watson was born March 18, 1923 in Alabama, a daughter of Amos John and Mattie Frank Bank Rice.

She was a graduate of Hope High School in Alabama.

Marzetta worked as a nurse’s assistant at South Side Hospital in Youngstown and Huron Road Hospital in Cleveland, retiring in 1986.

She was a member of Eagle Wing Baptist Church in Cleveland and Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church in Youngstown. She was a former Grand Matron with the Deborah Chapter # 3 O.E.S.

Marzetta enjoyed fishing, cooking, baseball (especially the Cleveland Indians) and wrestling.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her son, William (Darlene) Brown of Youngstown; her grandson, Julius (LaTosha) Walker of Youngstown and two great-granddaughters.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Rose Rudolph and three brothers, Leo, Rudy and Earl.

Friends may call Sunday, April 23, 2017 from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. at the L.E. Black, Phillips & Holden Funeral Home and on Monday from 10:30 – 11:00 a.m. at the church.
