YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – A funeral service celebrating the life and legacy of Mr. Woodrow Anderson, Sr. will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at J.E. Washington Funeral Home in Youngstown, Ohio.
Mr. Anderson departed this life Thursday, April 20, 2017, in Youngstown.
Mr. Anderson was born February 26, 1932, in Lower Peachtree, Alabama, a son of Henry and Elizabeth McCaskill Anderson, coming to the Mahoning valley many years ago.
He was formerly employed with LTV Steel.
He was a loving father, grandfather, brother and friend who will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his children, Woodrow Anderson, Jr, Clarence Anderson and Gollin Freeman, all of Youngstown and Jerry D. (Adam) Brent and Mary E. (Terry) Lane, all of Mansfield; his sister, Jessie Partlow of Cleveland; his brothers, Franklin D. (Lonnie B.) Anderson of Campbell and Lloyd and Joe Knight, both of Lower Peachtree; 14 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and dear friends, including his sister-in-law, Willie B. Anderson of Bronx, New York.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Beatrice Anderson Tucker; his sister, Jellean Anderson; his brothers, Curley Jackson, Henry Anderson II and Tommy Lee Anderson and his grandson, Clarence Anderson, Jr.
The family will receive friends Saturday, April 29, 2017 one hour prior to services at J.E. Washington Funeral Home.
