CORTLAND, Ohio – Donna Rae Fisher, 83, of Cortland, passed away Saturday evening, May 20, 2017 at her residence.
She was born June 1, 1933 in Warren, the daughter of William E. and Margaret E. (Strang) Jones.
Raised by her aunt and uncle, Walter and Janet Moore, Donna was a 1951 graduate of Bazetta High School.
She spent her adult life as a homemaker, raising and caring for her family.
She married Donald E. Fisher, Jr. on December 21, 1952. They shared almost 63 years of marriage and many happy memories together. He preceded her in death October 1, 2015.
Donna was a member of the Bazetta Christian Church.
She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family, whom she dearly loved.
She is survived by four children, Mark E. (Sue) Fisher, of Denver, Colorado, Scott (Robin) Fisher, of Ellsworth, Maine, Cheryl L. Scott (Murray Hietanen), of Bristolville and Deneen R. (Paul) Hovis, of Cortland. She also leaves behind five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband, Donna was preceded in death by a brother, David Jones.
Donna’s family is planning a private graveside service to be held at a later date.
She will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband in Crown Hill Burial Park in Vienna.
