WARREN, Ohio – Curtis Lee Redd, Sr., 59, of 1390 Blakely Circle, Warren, departed this life Thursday, June 1, 2017 at 11:08 a.m. at Trumbull Memorial Hospital, following a short illness.
He was born December 21, 1957 in Warren, Ohio, the son of Jake and Helen Williams Redd.
Mr. Redd was a member of Grace AME Church, past basketball coach for East Junior High School and was an avid New York Giants and Knicks fan.
He married Linda Marie Raimey Redd May 14, 1992, she died November 2, 2014.
He leaves to mourn, three sons, Curtis Lee Redd, Jr., Christopher Holden Redd and Curran Lamont Redd all of Warren; one daughter, Ms. Curttia Lerae Redd of Warren; one stepdaughter, Ms. Jennifer Marie Cox of Warren; five sisters, Ms. Darlene Dukes of Cleveland, Ms. Valerie Manson of Columbus, Mrs. Lisa (Larry) Smith, Ms. Christina Redd and Ms. Shamika Redd all of Warren; one half-brother, John Redd of Youngstown; two half-sisters, Mrs. Donna (Ruben) Taylor and Ms. Gwendolyn Redd both of Youngstown; six grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Jay Redd, Roger Redd, Larry Redd, Vincent Redd and Timothy Redd and two sisters, Ms. Robin Putnam and Ms. Autto Calhoun.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, June 9, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Grace AME Church.
Calling Hours will be held one hour prior to service, 10:00 – 11:00 a.m.
Burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery.
Family will receive friends at 2079 Milton Street SE, the home of his sister, Christina Redd.
Arrangements of comfort were handled by the Sterling-McCullough Williams Funeral Home.
