SALEM, Ohio – Lelia N. (Shade) Mitchell 76, of Salem, passed away at her home on Thursday, June 1, 2017.
She was born on November 26, 1940, in Salem, the daughter of the late Lee and Dorothy Mae (Davis) Shade.
Lelia graduated from Leetonia High School and was member of the Realife Church of Salem.
She was a talented seamstress. She loved music, was a former treasurer of the Salem Music Club and a current member of the KSU choir. Lelia was the secretary for the Canfield AARP. She was one that always kept very busy. Lelia was very talented at making crafts and selling them. She and her son would travel hours away to craft shows. She was a very loving and giving person that will be missed by many.
She is survived by her loving children, Jennifer Lee Mitchell of Salem and Jonathan Edward (Cynthia) Mitchell of East Rochester; two precious grandsons, Cody and Wade Mitchell; her sisters, Norma Canfield of Florida and Carol Lozier of Alliance.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death on January 18, 1996, by her husband, Edward E Mitchell, who she married on June 18,1961.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, June 9, at the Realife Church, 12824 Salem Warren Rd., Salem, OH 44460. The Rev. James Dotson and Rev. Robert Lecocq will be officiating.
A time of visitation will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 8, at the Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services in Salem and from 12:00 Noon – 1:00 p.m. at the church prior to the service.
