YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at Bethel Church of God in Christ, 3147 Glenwood Ave, Youngstown, Ohio, 44511 for Evangelist Thelma Fitzgerald who entered eternal life on Monday, June 5, 2017 at St. Elizabeth Hospital-Youngstown.
Evangelist Fitzgerald was a member of Beulah Temple United Holy Church of America where she formally served in the music department and was called to the ministry as an Evangelist Missionary.
In 1966, she started a Bible study with only two people, a shopping bag of clothes and a desire to help others. The garage and basement of her home served many families throughout the Mahoning and Trumbull Counties with food, clothing, mentoring and referrals to agencies for assistance. She serviced more than 300 families a month. Evangelist Fitzgerald was affiliated with the Kinship Care Program, Human Services, Social Security Office and many churches, where assistance was needed with food, clothing and ministry. She was known to many as mom.
Evangelist Fitzgerald also supported foreign ministries with money, clothes and supplies. She, herself, went to Liberia, West Africa for a while to work the foreign fields and give support to missionaries who were stationed there.
She leaves to cherish her beloved memory, three daughters, Patricia Clark of Youngstown, Valerie (Clarence) Johnson of Upper Marlboro, Maryland and Lucy Conners of Youngstown; one son, Anthony Clark of Youngstown; two sisters, Elaine Levels of Michigan and Melvine (Gunter) Kaisauer of Hollywood, California; one brother, Prentiss Logan of Chicago, Illinois and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
