LISBON, Ohio – Larry Len (Crude) Callis, of Lisbon, passed away at Salem Regional Medical Center at 10:09 p.m. on Wednesday, June 7, 2017.
He was born on April 4, 1947 in Toledo, Ohio, the son of the late Leonard and Sylvia (Parkhurst) Callis and had four siblings, Ladonna, Tommy, Brian and Ted Callis.
When he was living in Nashville, Tennessee, he enlisted in the Marine Corp. He served honorably in Vietnam, where he received numerous medals, including three Purple Hearts and a presidential citation.
He had many interests and worked in different jobs over the years. He was a Kensington police officer, a private detective, a security guard, a gunsmith, worked in sales for Sears and managed a print shop in Carollton. He also enjoyed dressing up and playing Santa Claus at Christmas time.
He was a member of the Pagan Motorcycle Group and among other titles, was a former president of the Ohio chapter.
Larry has two children, Christopher and Regena Callis and two grandchildren, Lena (Lily) and Ambrose.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, June 19 at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Rd, Seville, Ohio 44273.
Calling hours will be held from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 Noon on Monday, June 19 at the Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services.
