RAVENNA, Ohio – Ronald Ralph Lawrence, age 75, of Ravenna passed away peacefully into eternal rest on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at his home.
He was born on January 13, 1942 in Warren, Ohio, the son of the late Ralph L. Lawrence and Dorothy Mae (McClain) Lawrence.
Ronald married to love of his life Elaine V. Cvercko on November 6, 1964 and they have enjoyed the past 52 years of marriage together. They have lived in Ravenna the last 52 years, formerly of Newton Falls.
Ronald worked for ODOT (Ohio Department of Transportation) for 38 years retiring in 2002.
He and his wife Elaine are members of the Deaf Outreach Church in North Canton.
Ronald is a former member of the Akron/Canton Anglers Deaf Club and the 4H club. He loved fishing, hunting and when he was raised on the farm he enjoyed taking care of the pigs, goats and chickens.
He is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Robert Lawrence; one daughter-in-law, Lisa Lawrence and one brother-in-law, Roy Colbrunn.
Ronald is survived by one daughter, Noelle Lawrence of Ravenna; two sons, Jerry Lawrence and Amanda Bailey of Windham and Jeff and Dawn Lawrence of Nelson Township, Ohio; one sister, Beverly Colbrunn of Brookfield, Ohio; one brother, Donald and Debbi Lawrence of Newton Falls; six grandchildren, Tanner, Joshua, Guy, Makenna, Nic and Emma and longtime friend, Frank Blitz.
Per Ronald’s wishes, cremation has taken place.
Calling hours will be held at the James Funeral Home in Newton Falls on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m.
A Memorial service will follow at 6:00 p.m. with Pastor Darwin Smith officiating the service.
The family has requested that all donations please be made to Cleveland Clinic Akron General Visiting Nurse Service, 3358 Ridgewood Road, Akron, Ohio 44333 in memory of Ronald Lawrence.
