Sam McCreary, Jr., Newton Falls, Ohio - obit

NEWTON FALLS, Ohio – Sam McCreary, Jr., age 60, of Newton Falls, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, June 11, 2017 at his home.

Sam was born on June 30, 1956, in Cleveland, Ohio, the son of Sam McCreary, Sr. and Evalina (Stubbs) Croson.

Sam has lived in Newton Falls for the past six years, formerly of Newbury, Ohio.

Sam married the former, Susan R. Yoder, on October 12, 1984. Sam and Susan have been blessed with 32 years of marriage.

Sam was employed as a counter assistant and bowling instructor at Skylane Bowling in Garrettsville. While living in Newbury, Sam coached football, wrestling, softball and for over 20 years was a youth coach for baseball, soccer and football.

Sam enjoyed bowling, fishing and spending time with his two dogs, Roxanne and Porche.

Loving memories of Sam will be carried on by his wife, Susan McCreary of Newton Falls; mother, Evalina Croson of Chagrin Falls; daughters, Jamilla McCreary of Newbury, Amiee McCreary of Dayton, Antoinette (Pete) Maldonado of Bainbridge and Sabrina McCreary of Newton Falls; son, Dominik (Keri) McCreary of Lima; sisters, Alicia Rondo of Chagrin Falls, Shelley (James) Wren of Burton and Willaine (Timothy) Bloxsom of Chagrin Falls; brother, Dale McCreary of Chagrin Falls and seven grandchildren.

Sam was preceded in death by his father and brother, Gerald McCreary.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, June 16 from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at James Funeral Home.

Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Sam will be laid to rest at Newton Falls Cemetery.
