YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – A funeral service celebrating the life of Mr. James Preston Stewart will be held Friday, June 23, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at New Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. Kenneth L. Simon officiating.
Mr. Stewart departed this life Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at St. Elizabeth’s Health Care Center in Youngstown.
Mr. Stewart was born November 8, 1944 in Youngstown a son of Cameron and Hallie Johnson Stewart.
He was a 1962 graduate of South High School and proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1964 to 1968.
He was formerly employed as a car salesman with Jim Pace Pontiac.
He was a loving and giving person. James loved cooking, playing cards with his friends and watching the daily horse racing on TV. He was a True Die-Hard Cleveland Browns, Indians and Cavaliers fan. He especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Rosalind Lewis Stewart; his children, James, Ericka, Vanessa and Tiffany Stewart all of Youngstown; his father; his sister, Marthella (Ronald) Allen; his brothers, Jerald (Earlene) all of Youngstown, Dale (Rita) Stewart of Spring, Texas; his grandchildren, Anthony Williams, Raymond Sykes, James Stewart, Johnathan Stewart, Brandi Farmer and Tra’Shaun Burnette; a host of other relatives and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother and his brother, Cameron Stewart, Jr.
Friends may call Thursday, June 22 from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. at J.E. Washington Funeral Home and on Friday, June 23 from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the church.
A television tribute will air Wednesday, June 21 at the following approximate times:
12:25 p.m. WKBN, 6:58 p.m. on MyYTV and 10:37 p.m. FOX plus two additional spots throughout the day.
