LEAVITTSBURG, Ohio – Virgil Leon Hardbarger, 83, of Leavittsburg, Ohio passed away Thursday, June 22, 2017, at his home.
He was born January 7, 1934, in Harrisville, West Virginia, the son of the late Blaine and Gail (Collins) Hardbarger.
He was a graduate of Harrisville High School and retired from Copperweld Steel as a welder after 47 years of service.
Virgil was a self-taught fiddler and enjoyed playing for 72 years.
He had a huge heart and was a faithful witness of Jehovah and member of the Tod Heights Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Virgil’s memory will be carried on by his dear friend, Linda Vincent of Cortland, Ohio; two daughters, Tonya Guessman of Solon, Ohio and Treva Dangerfield of Warren, Ohio; son, Terry Hardbarger of Deerfield, Ohio; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Melvin (Melanie) Hardbarger and Harold (Alice) Hardbarger and six sisters, Wilma Ross, Frances Lockabee, Carolyn (Dave) Hodge, Rella Ankrom, Dortha (Jack) Cowan and Edna Saunders.
Besides his parents, Virgil was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Hardbarger and two brothers, Loran and Paul Hardbarger.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 16, 2017 at Tod Heights Kingdom Hall, 3555 Tod Ave. NW, Warren, OH 44485 where Mr. Jeff LaBuda will officiate.
A graveside service will take place 12:00 p.m., Saturday July 8, 2017 at the family cemetery in Harrisville, West Virginia.
Arrangements were entrusted to the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home in Warren, Ohio.
