AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – Private family services were held for Russell L. Ramirez, Sr., 82, who passed away Friday morning, June 23, at the Woodlands at AustinWoods.
Russell was born September 15, 1934, in Youngstown, a son of the late Luis and Elsie (Pratt) Ramirez.
Russell retired as a pharmacist from Franklin Pharmacy in Warren. He also worked with the Ohio State Pharmacy Association, was past president of the Eastern Ohio Pharmacists Association and the Trumbull Pharmacy Association.
Russell was a member of the committee for VD Awareness and attended the 1979 Switzerland Convention.
He loved traveling and going places with his wife. They always looked forward to attending conventions together. He also enjoyed watching TV, sports and reading mysteries.
Russell leaves his wife, the former Gloria J. Ohl; his son, Russell L. (Tami) Ramirez, Jr. of Minneapolis; his two grandchildren, Jared and Lia Ramirez; a brother, Warren (Mary Ann) Ramirez of Austintown and many nieces and nephews.
Russell was also preceded in death by a sister, Lois (Joe) Slifka.
