WARREN, Ohio – Robert William Grove, 78, passed away at his home on Saturday, June 24, 2017.
Bob was born in Rittman, Ohio on January 5, 1939 to James and Lillie (Buchwalter) Grove, Sr.
He went to Smithville schools graduating in 1957. He graduated from Valparaiso Technical Institute in 1962.
Bob was in the Army from 1963 to 1964 stationed at Redstone arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama and spent one year in Baumholder, Germany.
He worked many years at Taylor Winfield Corp as a Test and Service Engineer on induction heaters and welders. He retired in 2005.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman belonging to several clubs including Three Rivers Muskies, Inc. and was a life member of the NRA. He also belonged to American Legion Howland Post 700.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Jim, Jr. and Dick Grove and his sisters, Leora Kamp and Jean Boreman.
Bob is survived by his special friend, Marlene DeNiro Dzurina; his daughter, Christine Grove (Denis) McLaughlin; Marlene’s son, John (Marianne) Dzurina; his grandchildren, Colin and Caitlin McLaughlin and he was Pop Pop to J.T. and Breanne Dzurina. He’s also survived by his sisters, Beulah Olinger, Margaret Dickerson and Sandy Keeler; many nieces and nephews as well as his Bishon-Poo Daisy.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 29 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. with a Memorial Service at 7:00 p.m. at Lane Funeral Homes; 6923 Warren-Sharon Rd., Brookfield.
Military services at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman will be held on Thursday, July 6 at 1:30 p.m.
Bob was thankful for Dr. Koon and the wonderful staff at University Hospitals for the great care they gave to Bob during his battle with cancer.
