BELOIT, Ohio – Donald “Pap” Russell 89, of Beloit passed away at Canterbury Villa on Saturday, July 1, 2017.
Donald was born in McDonald, Pennsylvania on April 20, 1928 the son of the late James Y. and Mildred (Henry) Russell.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and worked as a core maker for American Steel Foundries in Alliance.
Donald was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Sebring and a life member of the VFW Lodge 6730.
He enjoyed playing cards and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife of 17 years, Lois (Mauck) Russell; three stepsons, Jerry (Amy) Mauck of Alliance, Jeffrey (Carina) Mauck of Cleveland and Roger (Lisa) Huntington of Georgia; stepgrandson, George M. Hill, Jr.; one stepgreat-granddaughter and four stepgreat-grandsons. He is also survived a brother, William (Dorothy) Russell of Burgettstown, Pennsylvania.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Virginia Russell; three sisters, Bertha Abbott, Agnes Felton and Jessie Wallo and two brothers, Robert and James Russell and a stepson, George M. Hill, Sr.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Gednetz-Ruzek-Brown Funeral Home in Sebring with Pastor Mike Kimball officiating and military honors provided by the Salem Honor Guard.
Friends may call on Friday, July 7, 2017 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will take place in Highland Memorial Park.
