Marie Cooperwood, Youngstown, Ohio - obit

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 8, 2017 at the Phillips Memorial Missionary Baptist Church for Mrs. Marie Cooperwood, 86, of Youngstown, who entered eternal rest on Saturday, July 1, 2017 at Northside Medical Center.

Mrs. Cooperwood was born July 14, 1930 in Fort Deposit, Alabama, a daughter of Terry Wilson and Elvira McQueen.

She had worked over 30 years with Fireline, Inc. as a production assembler.

She was a lifelong member of Phillips Memorial Missionary Baptist Church and was a former choir president and member, former member of the Mission Society, Pastor’s Anniversary Chairperson and usher. She presently served as an advisor for Pastor’s Anniversary Committee.

She was a member of the AARP and McGuffey Center Senior Citizens group.

Marie was a loving homemaker who loved cooking (especially baking), singing and spending time with her precious family, especially her grandchildren. She was an avid sports fan of the Cleveland Cavaliers and Browns.

She leaves to forever cherish her memories three children, Eld. Marguerite Tallon of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Sylvester Hall, Jr. of Atlanta, Georgia and Min. Mary L. and her husband, Min. Charles Scott of Woodbridge, Virginia; three sisters, Geraldine Reeves of Youngstown, Hattie (Charles) Howard of Montgomery, Alabama and Patricia Jackson of Atlanta, Georgia; four brothers, Joe (Ruby) Forest of Clarksville, Tennessee, Johnny Forest of Montgomery, Alabama, Willie (Augusta) Forest of Johnson City, Tennessee and Larry (Angelia) Forest of Birmingham, Alabama; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and a host of loving relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Terry; mother and stepfather, Elvira and Henry Forest; four brothers, Henry, Jr., James L., Robert, and Lennell Forest and two sisters, Willie Bell Brown and Doris Harris.

Visitation hours will be Friday, July 7 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Phillips Memorial Missionary Baptist Church, 1407 Victor Ave., Youngstown and on Saturday, July 8 from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. at the church.
