HERMITAGE, Pennsylvania – Dorothy D. Olshavsky, formerly of 1020 Robertson Road, Hermitage, died at 4:54 p.m. Monday, July 2, 2017, in Nugent Convalescent Home, Hermitage. She was 103.
Dorothy was born April 29, 1914, in what was Buhl Hospital, Sharon, to Agnes Wonchok Plawky and Joseph Plawky.
She graduated from Hickory High School and attended what was Slippery Rock College for two years.
Dorothy was a sales clerk for the former Sharon Store; she worked behind the meat counter at the former Uptown Korner Market, Sharon, from which she retired in 1979 and she owned D&M Ceramics.
She was a member of Holy Cross Orthodox Church.
Dorothy enjoyed doing ceramics.
Surviving are a daughter, Judy Havrilla and her husband, John, Hermitage; three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Oslshavsky, whom she married April 18, 1942 and who passed away April 17, 1974; a son, Michael J. Olshavsky; three sisters, Mary Koluns, Emma Young and Martha Chupak and two brothers, Joseph and Alex Plawky.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, July 7 in John Flynn Funeral Home & Creamtory, Inc. in Hermitage. There are no calling hours.
Burial will be in America’s Cemetery, Hermitage.
