LADY LAKE, Florida (Formerly Negley, Ohio) – Mary Jane Price, 82, of Lady Lake, Florida, formerly of Negley, Ohio, passed away late Wednesday evening, July 5, 2017 at Leesburg Regional Hospital, Leesburg, Florida where she had been a patient.
Mary was born December 26, 1934 in Plain City, Ohio, a daughter of the late George Adam and Minnie (Fiess) Porschet.
She was a 1952 graduate of Hartford High School, Hartford, Ohio and then went on to receive her music and math teaching degree from Capital University, Bexley, Ohio in 1956.
Mary taught math and special education for the blind in Trumbull County.
She also did braille for over 50 years for Northwestern Publishing House, Cleveland Sight Center and The Library of Congress; transposing devotions, textbooks and music into braille.
She was a member of Open Bible Lutheran Church, Oxford, Florida. Mary enjoyed playing the piano and played organ when the family belonged to Good Shepherd Evangelical Lutheran Church in Girard, Ohio.
She loved classical music, crossword puzzles, reading, gardening and sports (Ohio State and Cleveland Indians).
She is survived by her husband, Joseph Price whom she married June 15, 1957; three sons, Joseph Price of Smyrna, Georgia, George Price, Shadyside, Ohio and James (Michele Scheid) Price of Rossford, Ohio; three granddaughters, Emily, Bethany and Anna Price, all of Rossford, Ohio; two sisters, Linda Ryan of Lady Lake, Florida and June Shoemaker of Canal Winchester, Ohio and a sister-in-law, Beverly Brickley of Struthers, Ohio also survive.
Besides her parents, Mary was preceded in death by sisters, JoAne Thogmartin and Ruth Nelson.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at the Linsley-Royal Funeral Home in East Palestine, Ohio with Pastor Joel Kluender of Bethany Lutheran Church (Gibsonia, Pennsylvania) officiating.
A private interment will follow at Crest Haven Memorial Gardens in New Waterford, Ohio.
