SALEM, Ohio – Mary Lou (Starke) Timmins, age 86, passed away at 3:00 a.m. Thursday, July 6, 2017 at Auburn Skilled Nursing Home.
She was born July 12, 1930 in Tarentum, Pennsylvania, a daughter of Ernest Frederick Starke and Verne (Eaton) Starke.
She moved to Ohio in 2000 to be closer to her family.
Mary Lou was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Salem.
She enjoyed Pittsburgh sports and taking care of her home. While living in Pennsylvania, she sang in her church choir and served as a volunteer for Meals On Wheels.
Survivors include her husband, Ralph Timmins, whom she married July 24, 1968; a daughter, Janet (Kevin) Chumney, of Salem; two granddaughters, Jody (Luke) Grubb and Amy (Kenny) Phillips; a grandson, Cole Chumney and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Ernest F. Starke and David R. Starke and a sister, Shirley Gilliland.
Memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, July 16, 2017 at the First Presbyterian Church of Salem with Rev. Dr. Meta Cramer officiating.
Calling hours will be held one hour prior to the memorial service, 2:00 – 3:00 p.m., at the church.
Interment was held at Hope Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Salem, 436 E. Second St., Salem, OH 44460.
