YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Dolores Henrine King passed away on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at Ohio Living (Park Vista).
She was born on September 8, 1934 in Youngstown, Ohio, the youngest child of George B. Harper and Lillian Flakes Harper.
She graduated from the Rayen High School in 1952, then she attended YSU for two years appearing on the dean’s list for both.
She married Alvin D. King in 1956. Divorced in 1970 they had two children.
She was employed as a medical technologist. She worked for over 45 years. Starting at Southside Hospital and retiring at Northside Hospital.
“Dee” has she was affectionately called by family and friends loved sports. She enjoyed attending the home openers for the Cleveland Cavs, Indians and Browns.
A Jehovah’s Witness she was a member of the South Side Congregation.
She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Patricia Lawrence and her husband, Eric; her sister, Alberta Harper of Los Angles, California and her caregivers, her cousins, Shaundra Xavier and Bre Aunna Winkfield.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her son, Michael King; siblings, Robert, William, Pauline and Arlene.
Calling hours 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at the Conley & Vanden Berg Funeral Home.
The funeral will be on Thursday, July 20, 2017 at the funeral home at 12:00 Noon.
Interments will be at Belmont Park Cemetery.
