JACKSONVILLE, Florida (Formerly Youngstown, Ohio) – Prayers will begin Tuesday, July 18 at 9:15 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Poland Chapel, 2726 Center Road, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Basilica, for Dolores Ann Fortunato Paul, 90, who died Wednesday morning, July 12 at her residence in Florida.
Dolores was born August 3, 1926, in Youngstown, Ohio, the daughter of the late Nicholas and Ann (Polovischak) Fortunato.
She attended The Ohio State University and Youngstown College (now YSU) and worked as a medical technologist for the Youngstown Hospital Association for several years.
Dolores married Dr. Robert J. Paul, Sr. on May 7, 1955, who predeceased her.
She was an active member of the Trumbull County Medical Auxiliary and like her late husband was an avid Ohio State Buckeye fan. Dolores spent much of her life in Warren until she and her husband retired to Florida. Her greatest dedication and devotion was to her family and her dear friends.
Dolores leaves two daughters, Dr. Elaine Paul of Powell, Ohio and Lynne (Anthony) Petrizzo ARNP of St. Augustine, Florida; her son, Dr. Robert, Jr. (Cindy) of Sarasota, Florida; her sister, Barbara Elaine (William, Jr.) Gibson of Poland, Ohio; her brother, Alfred (Mary Juliene) Fortunato of Estero, Florida and four grandchildren, Jessica Paul Johnson, Christie Paul and Marissa and Steven Briggs.
Family and friends may call Tuesday, July 18, 2017, from 8:30 – 9:15 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Poland Chapel.
