NILES, Ohio – There will be a memorial service held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 20, 2017 at Hillside Cemetery Chapel in Cortland for Nancy M. Shales age 66, of Niles who went home to be with her Lord peacefully with family at her side on Friday, July 14, 2017 following a brave battle with cancer.
Nancy was born September 5, 1950 in Youngstown, Ohio a daughter of Herman L. and Bertha Mae Evans Miller.
She was 1968 graduate of Niles McKinley High School.
Nancy was a tech in engineering and also the index line at Packard Electric for over 30 years retiring in 1999 and attended First Baptist Church of Niles.
She enjoyed camping, sewing, dancing, canning and spending time with family and friends. She had an endearing quality treasured by all who knew her.
She will be sadly missed by her family; her loving husband, Martin N. Shales whom she married May 8, 1999; her children, Kelley Tomsich of Struthers, Jeff (Tracy) Rowland of Niles and Martin R. (Michella) Shales of Hubbard, 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
She also leaves her sisters, Donna (Phil) Hillman of Kingsport, Tennessee, Charlene (Wayne) Holinbaugh of Old Town, Florida and Doreen Miller of Niles and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her in-laws, Norman and Rebecca Shales.
