CAMPBELL, Ohio – Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 27 at 10:30 a.m. at the Wasko Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 11:00 a.m. at St. Michael’s Byzantine Catholic Church, with Rev. Kevin Marks officiating, for Robert J. Fedorek, 76, who passed away on Saturday morning, July 22, 2017 at his home.
Bob was born on January 22, 1941 in Youngstown, the son of John and Mary Posutupa Fedorek.
He attended Campbell Memorial High School and was a lifelong area resident.
He also served his country in the U.S. Army and National Guard from 1962-1968.
For 18 years, Bob worked for Fitzsimmons Steel as a tow motor operator until its closing. Later, he retired from the Campbell City School system after 25 years, where he served as a custodian.
He was a parishioner of St. Michael’s Byzantine Catholic Church.
Bob loved to barbeque and work in his garden. He was an avid sports fan but especially enjoyed cheering on the Pittsburgh Penguins with his son. Bob was his happiest at home, spending time with his family and neighbors.
Bob will be deeply missed by his wife, the former Irene Stancin, whom he married on April 4, 1964; his daughters, Lori (Timothy) Stellmar of Lowellville and Donna Fedorek of Struthers; his son, David (Denise) Fedorek of Austintown; his seven grandchildren, Justin, Tyler, Tanner, Jonathan, Jenna, Mary and Kourtney; his great-grandson, Jackson and his dog, “Lady”, who he considered his angel from Heaven.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Jerry Fedorek.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff of Hospice of the Valley for the excellent care they provided to Bob and to their very special neighbors, Steve and Jerry, for all of their kindness and help they gave.
The Fedorek family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home and will receive family and friends on Wednesday, July 26 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home, where a parastas service will be held at 3:30 p.m.
