WARREN, Ohio – Donald P. Stefan, Sr., 63, of Warren, passed away at 6:03 p.m. Tuesday, August 1, 2017 in his home.
He was born on September 17, 1953 in Warren, the son of the late John J., Sr. and Dorothy Jurasin Stefan and was a 1971 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School.
Until its closing, Donald worked for 22 ½ years as a tow motor operator for General Refractory which began A.P. Green Company in Champion. At the same time, he also worked as a custodian for the Warren City Schools for the last 25 years retiring in 2017.
Donald was a member of the St. Pius X Catholic Church now St. John Paul II Parish in Warren.
He enjoyed an occasional trip to Mountaineer Casino and enjoyed fishing.
He will be sadly missed by two children, Donald P. (Dawn Haynie) Stefan, Jr. of Mineral Ridge and Mary Stefan of Ravenna; two brothers, John J. Stefan, Jr. of Warren and Robert J. (Judy) Stefan of Champion; a sister, Linda (David N.) Prokop of Champion; his longtime friend and mother to his children, Jackie D. Stefan of Newton Falls and three grandchildren, Roxanne, Treyton and Cara Stefan.
Besides his parents, Donald was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Rosemary Stefan.
Calling hours will take place on Monday, August 7, 2017 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. in the Sinchak & Kaszowski Funeral Home.
An Order of Christian Burial Service with Fr. Christopher Henyk officiating, will be offered at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 8, 2017 in the funeral home.
Burial will follow in Meadow Brook Memorial Park in Champion.
