WARREN, Ohio – Robert Arthur Baird, Jr., 66, of 3130 Beal Street NW, Warren, departed this life Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at 11:09 a.m., following an extended illness.
He was born October 13, 1950, in Moncity, Pennsylvania, the son of Robert A. and Nellie M. Prescott Baird, Sr., residing in the area since 1982.
Mr. Baird was employed with Delphi Packard Electric for several years, before retiring.
He was baptized at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church and was actively involved in sports.
He was a 1968 graduate of Charleroi Area High School and attended Duquesne Junior College.
He served honorably in the U.S. Marine Corps as a Sergeant from June 29, 1979-August 2, 2005. He was stationed in Kailua, Hawaii, as an Antitank and Ground Surveillance Operator, receiving the Good Conduct Medal with star, Overseas Service Deployment Ribbon with star, Rifle Sharpshooter Badge and Letter of Appreciation.
He leaves to mourn one brother, Samuel W. (Lisa M.) Baird of Herndon, Virginia and a host of relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Kenneth R. Baird and two sisters, Sharon R. Walls and Yvonne L. Wynn.
Arrangements of comfort were handled by the Sterling-McCullough Williams Funeral Home.
