NILES, Ohio (WKBN) – A woman is facing falsification charges after Weathersfield Police reported that there were inconsistencies in her story, accusing a man of throwing her through a glass door.
Katie Slenker, 24, was arrested on Wednesday on the falsification charge.
As a result of the investigation, assault charges against 26-year-old Justin Redmond were dropped.
Slenker called police on August 21 to the Villa Arms Motel on Youngstown-Warren Road, telling officers that Redmond pushed her through a glass door. She told police that Redmond wanted her Xbox to sell for drugs and that they had been arguing over that.
Redmond told officers that he never hurt Slenker and that he was outside when he saw her fall through the glass. He told police that in the three days he had known Slenker, she tried to kill herself three times, according to the police report.
During the investigation at the motel, police said they found used syringes, a crack pipe and several pills.
Redmond still faces charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug instruments and paraphernalia, according to the court.
