HERMITAGE, Pennsylvania – Evelyn Grace Hoagland Heckathorn, of Hermitage, passed away at 11:11 p.m. Sunday, August 27, 2017, in UPMC Farrell after a brief illness. She was 94.
She was born July 16, 1923, in Hickory Township, a daughter of George H. and Grace (Reno) Hoagland.
Evelyn graduated in 1940 from Hickory High School and was a cosmetologist.
She was the wife of the late William Paul Heckathorn, whom she married in 1943. He passed away on October 25, 1998.
She was a member of Faith Presbyterian Church in Hermitage.
Evelyn enjoyed crocheting, embroidery, crewel, playing, 500 bid and euchre and was a member of Order of the Eastern Star (past matron) and Red Hat Ladies.
She is survived by daughters, Sandra Shuttleworth of West Middlesex, Barbara Sheasley (Clayton) of Hermitage and Laurie Pustinger (Dan) of Hermitage; a son, Wm. Arthur Heckathorn (Dee) of Sharpsville; nine grandchildren, Gary Shuttleworth, Brian Shuttleworth (Liz), Clayton Sheasley III, Chad Sheasley (Alicia), Matt Heckathorn (Heidi), Michael Heckathorn (Katie), Nick Heckathorn (Kathryn), Dan Pustinger Jr. and Alex Pustinger; and great-grandchildren, Joshua, Justin, Madelyn and Alivia Shuttleworth, AnnieRose, Clayton IV and Cora Sheasley and William Paul and Eleanor Heckathorn.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Frances Osborne and Helen Reynolds and a brother, Harry Hoagland.
Memorial contributions may be made to Faith Presbyterian Church.
Calling hours will be held 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, Augsut 30 in John Flynn Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2630 E. State St., Hermitage and 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 31 in Faith Presbyterian Church.
Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 31 in Faith Presbyterian Church, with Pastor Anthony Kladitis officiating.
Burial will be in Clarksville Citizens Cemetery, Clark.
