Edward, also known as Red, was born in Campbell on September 30, 1926, to John and Anna (Vansuch) Vrabel.
Upon graduating in 1944 from Campbell Memorial High School, he served his country from 1944-1946 in the U.S. Army.

His passion for music and his ethnic roots developed into being a cantor at St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church for 15 years where he also portrayed St. Nicholas for many Christmas seasons.
He enjoyed polka music, dancing and playing his button box. Edward never turned down a competitive game of cards, even on his 91st birthday.
He was a proud spectator of his grandchildren’s activities including sporting events, music concerts and academic endeavors.
Edward was an avid sportsman and was a member of several bowling, softball and golf leagues, serving as long time secretary of the St. Nick’s Golf League. Notre Dame football did not have a bigger fan.
