CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, Ohio (Formerly, Andover, Ohio) – Edwin Everett Hill, Jr., age 86, died on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 in Cleveland.
He was born on March 29, 1931 in Andover, Ohio, a son of Nancy (Cole) and Edwin E. Hill, Sr.
Ed was a 1949 graduate from Andover High School and 1953 graduate from Ohio University.
He served in the United States Army as a Lieutenant.
In June of 1960 he married Aura Quinton Holton.
Ed was an English teacher for the Charles F. Brush High School in Lyndhurst for many years.
He was a member of the Church of the Saviour of Cleveland Heights and a charter member of the Brush High Alumni Association Wall of Fame in 2005.
Ed enjoyed playing bridge, going antiquing, playing piano and spending time with his family and his dogs.
He is preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Ruth Hill-Harper and Roberta Hill and a brother, Duane C. Hill.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Aura Q. Hill of Cleveland Heights; a son, Edwin E. Hill, III and a granddaughter Zoe Hill both of Evansville, Indiana.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Maple Grove Cemetery, Cleveland Street Extension, Andover, Ohio with Rev. Ric Harvel officiating.
