SALEM, Ohio – Ruby Mae (Teevan) Alter 64, of Salem, died at 6:34 p.m. Thursday, October 5, 2017, at Select Speciality Hospital in Boardman.
She was born on December 22, 1952 in South Gate, Los Angeles County, California, the daughter of the late Thomas Henry and Audrey Valentine (Maxcey) Teevan.
She was a retired buyer for the Philadelphia Electric Company.
Ruby was a real outdoors lover and enjoyed to go camping and fishing. Her main goal in life was to be out shopping when ever possible and then settle down to a good book to read.
She will be missed by her husband, James Howard Alter whom she married in 1970; her children, James “JJ” Alter of Pennsylvania, Misty (Darrin) Sturgell of Columbiana, Christopher (Jessica) Alter of Pennsylvania, Cary (Lisa) Alter of Missouri, Ginger (John) Hummel of Pennsylvania, Howard (Dorothy “Dot”) Alter of Pennsylvania and Margaret (Roger) Hawk of Pennsylvania and a sister, Mary (Dennis) Carter of Texas; 15 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother, Gary.
There will be no services held at this time.
