YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – A funeral service celebrating the life and legacy of Mr. James O. Tomlin, Jr. will be held Thursday, October 19 at 11:00 a.m. at Washington Funeral Home.
Mr. Tomlin departed this life Friday, October 13, 2017 at St. Elizabeth’s Health Care Center surrounded by his loving family.
Mr. Tomlin was born April 13, 1935 in Youngstown, a son of James O. and Nellie Elizabeth Tomlin, Sr.
He was a graduate of Chaney High School and proudly served in the United States Marine Corp.
He was formerly employed with Youngstown Sheet and Tube retiring after several years of loyal service.
He was a loving husband, father, brother and friend who will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 53 years, the former Rose Ford whom he married in 1964; his daughters, Lynnette Tomlin and Donita (Mark) Aikens; his brothers, Thomas Graham and Charles Tomlin; ten grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Ronald and Lawrence Tomlin and his grandson, Mark Aikens, Jr.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 18 from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. and on Thursday, October 19 from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the Washington Funeral Home prior to services.
