GREENVILLE, Pennsylvania – John E. Irwin, Jr., 56, of Greenville, passed away following a brief illness on Friday evening, October 13, 2017 at UPMC Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
He was born in the Wilkinsburg Borough of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on December 16, 1960 to the late John E. and Ruth J. (Warnock) Irwin.
He was a graduate of Greenville High School and worked for the borough of Greenville as the maintenance foreman at Riverside Park.
John was an excellent electrician who loved spending time outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and also enjoyed listening to music and being around friends and family.
John is survived by his wife at home, Lori A. (Satonica) Irwin. They were married on September 8, 1990. Also surviving are two sons, Joshua Irwin of Sheakleyville and Jason Irwin of Erie; three grandchildren, Elizabeth Irwin, Ember Irwin and Blaze Irwin; five brothers, Gregg Irwin and his wife, Melanie of Carlisle, Pennsylvania, Scott Irwin and his wife, Brenda of Fredonia, Pennsylvania, Steve Irwin and his wife, Connie of Sharon, Pennsylvania, David Irwin and his wife, Yvette of Montana and Larry Irwin of Greenville and a sister, Lynn Irwin of Stoneboro. He also loved all of his nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an uncle, Murphy Warnock.
